because as the host it
has much more at stake
in the 19th edition of
the Commonwealth Games to be
held in New Delhi from October 3
to 14, than sporting powerhouses
like Australia, England,Canada or
New Zealand.
The reason is simple - the
Games preparations have got
into endless controversies and
scandals implicating organisers and
officials with which the real stars
of the show, the sportspersons have
nothing to do. The government
has spent an unprecedented
amount of money to stage these
games and good showing by
the sportspersons and successful
conduct of this mega event will
be a positive endorsement and
good advertisement for India in the
comity of nations. |
